RemoteCare uses the Oticon Companion to hold an online meeting with your hearing care professional, where they can adjust your hearing aids remotely.
To use RemoteCare, your hearing care professional needs to set up a meeting with you.
When your hearing care professional sets up a meeting, they will use your email address and Oticon login details.
You'll need to use the same details to log in to RemoteCare in the Oticon Companion.
Ensure you have the latest version of the Oticon Companion.
It’s important to ensure you maintain a strong and reliable Internet connection for the duration of the meeting. This ensures any changes to your hearing aids can be successfully completed.
Ensure the mobile device you're using is fully charged.
Ensure your hearing aids are paired with your mobile device, and that Bluetooth® is enabled.
Turn off any type of battery-saving mode on your mobile device.
Stop any other apps to avoid disturbances.
If your hearing aids have disposable batteries, insert new ones.
If your hearing aids have rechargeable batteries, ensure they are fully charged.
Ensure you are in a quiet place with little or no background noise.
Position yourself where there is a stable Internet connection.

At the bottom left of your screen (on the tab bar), tap the More icon.
If you have not signed into your account, you will be asked to do so.
If you have not paired your hearing aids to your device, you will be taken to the Pair your hearing aids screen. Pair your hearing aids and continue.
On the Connect your hearing aids screen, tap Connect.
You will enter the Waiting room screen. Here, you can see yourself on the video while you wait for your hearing care professional to join the meeting.
When your hearing care professional joins the meeting, they will appear on your screen.
A. Camera: Turns your own camera on or off.
B. Audio: Turns your own audio on or off.
C. Chat: Write text messages with your hearing care professional if one of you can’t hear the other.
Your hearing care professional will establish a remote connection to your hearing aids. When this has been successfully completed, the L and R graphics on your screen will change from blinking to steady green.
Your hearing care professional may remotely check if your hearing loss has changed, so they know how to fine-tune the settings of your hearing aids.
Ensure you are in a quiet place with little or no background noise. Too much background noise can affect the results.
Wear your hearing aids correctly and as previously advised.
When your hearing care professional uploads new settings or configurations to your hearing aids, the L and R graphics change colour and blink orange.
When the new settings have been successfully saved to your hearing aids, the L and R graphics change colour to steady green again.
When you and your hearing care professional agree to end the meeting, the hearing care professional will restart your hearing aids (turning them off and then on again).
When your hearing care professional ends the meeting, a screen appears saying Visit ended.
Tap OK.
Now you can use your hearing aids as you normally do.
