Proven to help clients like never before

Explore Oticon Intent

Seamless adaptation to users’ changing needs

Oticon Intent 1 adapts to users’ listening intentions, providing adaptation of support spanning 5 dB output SNR even within a single environment. This is thanks to the 4D Sensor technology^, which prioritises speech clarity of surrounding sounds when needed1. This high-flexibility technology enables users to engage fully in conversation, no matter the sound environment.

Oticon Intent helps the brain balance sounds of interest

Your brain constantly monitors the sounds around you, both in the foreground and background. But the sounds you pay attention to depend on your listening intentions in that moment.

To see how the new 4D Sensor technology helps the brain balance the attention it gives to different sounds, we conducted a clinical EEG study. The results showed that Oticon Intent 1 enabled significantly higher attention to environmental sounds while the brain is actively orienting, than during an intimate conversation. All without compromising the brain’s attention to speech2.

Hearing aid users prefer Oticon Intent

We asked hearing aid users to evaluate the sound quality of Oticon Intent 1 compared to Oticon Real 1 in different sound environments. Oticon Intent received significantly higher ratings by hearing aid users, both in environments where understanding speech was important, like a cafeteria, and where awareness of surrounding sounds was important, like a forest2.

Proven to deliver exceptional speech comprehension

Bringing the lab closer to real life

Using virtual reality technology in the Audio-Visual Immersion Lab (AVIL) at Technical University of Denmark, we reconstructed realistic scenarios with simultaneous conversations and background noise. Here, the participants were free to move their heads and bodies to identify and understand one speaker within a group.

In this study, listening to speech was designed to be very challenging. We wanted to investigate if the 4D Sensor technology helped users navigate this type of environment – and by how much. The results showed that Oticon Intent 1 with the 4D Sensor technology switched on improved speech comprehension by 15% compared to when the technology is off, while enabling users to remain open to other speakers2.

Unprecedented access to speech cues in complex environments

When the user is engaged in an intimate conversation in a noisy environment, Oticon Intent 1 provides 35% more access to speech cues, compared to Oticon Real 1, as shown with technical measurements of output SNR.1 With this technology, the hearing aid can understand the user’s listening intentions and support in a way that has not been possible before.

Oticon Intent 1 adapts to user’s listening intentions, providing adaptation of support spanning 5 dB output SNR even within a single environment. Clinical studies show that giving personalised support in every moment means the user can more easily attend to and focus on the sounds that matter2. This means Oticon Intent lets your clients engage in conversation like never before.
